“Who Kinked the Hose?”
I grew up in the late 40’s and early 50’s years before the onset of residential sprinkler systems in yards. In those days when the rains did not come as often as needed to keep the yards green and lush it became an additional chore to place moveable sprinklers in thee yard, moving them often to assure water to each area of the lawn.
As a little guy I would watch my dad move the sprinklers from place to place. In order to keep from getting wet and to save time instead of turning the water off at the source he would grab the hose and “kink” it to shut off the flow of water as he moved the mechanical sprayer from place to place.
As believers we often feel disconnected from the source of our power….truth is we are never disconnected, as Christ promises to “never leave us or forsake us…” (Hebrews 13:5); however, Paul warns us in I Thessalonians 5:20 to: “Quench not the Spirit.” This is the picture of taking a hose and “kinking” it to stop the flow. So you feeling powerless and disconnected? Check your life line hose and undo the kink!!!
